Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy

In a time that holistic care, mindfulness, and wellness is becoming increasingly popular, I have noticed that hypnosis and hypnotherapy are still very taboo.

Lack of understanding? Most likely. Stigma about its efficacy? Maybe. What Hollywood movies and shows have misrepresented? Definitely.

Hypnosis is a tool - like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Neurolinguistic Programming, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprogramming (EMDR), Somatic Therapy, and more.

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic session that utilizes hypnosis to reinforce positive thoughts and habits as you work towards your goals. While talk therapy is very important, and the first part of the session will feel just like you would with your psychologist, a properly trained hypnotherapist will use keywords and suggestions while knowing how to phrase them so that your subconscious gravitates to positive change that your conscious has created limiting beliefs about that you feel like you just have not been able to alter and overcome.

They are coexistent. And the more you utilize them both, the stronger the results. But just like talk therapy is not a quick fix, hypnosis and the goal you are striving for, is unlikely to be instantaneous. Everyone has a beautiful and complicated mind. What works for someone ina certain way or timeframe is not the same for others. This is why hypnotherapists probably do not want to work with a couple because comparing notes of methods used within a session can hinder the experience.

Just like going to the gym to build stronger muscles, the more you use hypnosis, the stronger your mind will become.
